For Confident Users Only
If you'd like a more authentic nostalgic experience, you can download the images used back when this version
was current, as best as we could rebuild them without conflicting with the new ones.
But please only do this
if you're not confused by these instructions. If your files get messed up, you could end up with
corrupted images, a mixed-up inventory display and muddled graphics when we go back to the modern world.
(Your actual inventory and player information will be fine, but it will look messed up.)
We won't be able to give much support for problems like that, and your only solution will be to download
the whole 28 MB image file again.
Now that that's out of the way, let's get to the fun!
- Make a new Clan Lord folder, to keep your current images and sounds safe.
- Copy your Clan Lord v382 into that new folder.
- Copy your CL_Sounds into that new folder.
- Optional:
- Either copy your entire Macros folder into that new folder or make an alias to it there.
- Either copy your entire Friends folder into that new folder or make an alias to it there.
- Copy your CL_Prefs file into that new folder.
- Download the file of old images (7.5 MB).
- Move it into that new Clan Lord folder.
- Unpack it by dropping it onto Stuffit Expander. It should be 11,003,697 bytes.
- Launch the Clan Lord application from that folder, log on and play.
- Hilarity ensues. (Keep in mind that many people will still be using the new images, so what you see won't
exactly match what they see.)
- When we run a Chaos Storm to restore the modern world, throw away that new Clan Lord folder after the server shuts down.
Run your original Clan Lord v382 to download the updates and keep playing, just like at a normal Chaos Storm. Don't
try to update the old images to work in the new world. They won't.
- If you have any inventory or image problems, download the full CL_Images.XXX.gz file from
the Clan Lord download page and unpack it in whichever folder
you're playing from when you have the problems.
- If you still have problems, email Ann by putting her name in front of @admin.clanlord.com .
Enjoy!
